A Room In Our Hearts

"And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn." -Luke 2:7

You left Your Father’s home
Your Kingly crown and Heavenly throne
In a humble manger You were borne
Wrapped in swaddling cloths,
And without a permanent home.

You willingly came down to earth
To dwell among sinful people—
People who are self-seeking and lost
Blinded by their own righteousness—
Who refused to come into the light.

A true pilgrim You were
Traveling from place to place.
Earthly things You never desire—
Though You are the Creator,
And Owner of All.

You live a life here on earth,
Mocked and disowned.
Yet sinless and perfect—
A sacrificial Lamb for all.

Your obedience to Your Heavenly Father,
And Your love for the world
Gave way to Your victory—
The power of sin is finally broken,
Triumphant on the Cross.

You knocked at hearts’ doors
And a room You have found.
Willingly surrendered—
Our souls, our lives. Our All.

Now and always …

You dwell in our hearts.

LORD JESUS, Thank You for Your willingness to leave Your Heavenly glory so You could dwell with us, and ultimately saved us. We are not worthy of Your goodness. Help us to live a life that always seeks to please You. May it always be in our hearts that Christmas is You!

Happy Birthday to You, Lord Jesus, our Great Saviour and King, the Messiah and the Redeemer of all mankind!
